Dear Butch,
Nine years ago today you left us. We miss you something awful each and everyday. I especially miss you stopping on your way home just to say “Hi“! I miss our heated discussions about woman’s rights, politics and religion.
I remember the day you moved into your new apartment.
I remember the day we went over to the furniture store, the one your landlord owned, and buying your leather furniture and then trying to get it up that narrow stairway up to your apartment.
I remember the day your son was born. The love and pride on your face.
I remember your wedding day. A great day for you surrounded by all your family, your friends and Marine Corp. buddies.
One thing I really remember was the day that we went up to Shady Acres to meet the guy who sold us the dirt bike. You begged me to ride it home and I reluctantly agreed. You put your ball cap on backwards and down the road you headed for home. That was one of the happiest days of my life.
You were only with us for 27 years but we cherish each and every one of those years with you. We wish we could have had many more but that was not in God’s plan.
Your son is growing into a fine young man. You would be very proud of him. He looks so much like you that sometimes it hurts my heart to see him. We look so forward to the time we spend with him.
Lonely is our house without you - Life for us is the same.

Love you very much and miss you each and everyday.
