Today is day 2 in my decision to “get it together“.  My morning started abruptly at 2:00a.m. with yet another migraine...thinking, hoping it was weather related.  The forecast for today has called for rain and thunderstorms for most of the day.  After my breakfast I decided at around 9:30a.m. that I “had” to get out of the house.  I decided to go for a “walk in the rain.”  I went to my usual place and walked along the Mississippi River.  As I began my walk along the path I heard a bird making a lot of noise...it was very upset.  I looked over and I saw a Blue Jay.  I haven’t seen a Blue Jay in over 7 years.  He was a beautiful sight to see...I don’t think he thought the same of me however.  You see, I was dressed in a bright yellow rain poncho...and the Blue Jay didn’t like it one bit.  As I walked further down the path breathing in the fresh air and watching leaves gentle falling along with the rain drops, I noticed something in the distance.  Along the bank of the river was a large group of birds...big birds.  As I got closer I realized that they were Pelicans.  Within the past two years Pelicans have started to make this part of the Mississippi their home.  They are a beautiful yet gawky looking bird in my opinion and they are a welcome sight to our neck of the woods.  Anyway, back to my bright yellow poncho...those Pelicans got one look at me and they were off.  I was the only person on this part of the river walk today and I was scaring every bird in sight.  Well, now it is 2:30p.m. and the sun is shining!  It is a beautiful 70 degrees and you know what...I’m glad that I decided to take the walk in the rain....
