I am thrilled to be starting my blogging adventure with Fabulously40! Yesterday, you may have received an introduction email from me. I am Susan Mulcaire, and I am the author of The Middle School Student’s Guide to Ruling the World! a work habits, time management & organizational skills workbook for the 11-14 crowd. My curriculum is being used by middle schools across the country to teach organizational skills to their middle schoolers. Since many parents in their 40’s have children in middle school, this is a wonderful place to connect. Let’s face it—the middle school years can be a little stressful, particularly if your child is underachieving. There are many reasons why kids underachieve in middle school. Poor work habits, time management and organizational skills can account for much of it. For many kids, it’s not that the content is too difficult to master, or that they aren’t smart enough. It’s that they’ve lost their homework, or have forgotten to turn it in, or failed to follow directions, or didn’t follow up on a matter that affected their grade... Over the next few blogs I will be introducing some of the tools and skills students need in order to be organized to achieve in middle school. If you want to read ahead, you can go to my website at Feel free to send questions and comments!
