The mortgage industry is sullen and realstate is not that great, but I still can dream about my dream house can’t I?

I don’t know much about square feet and such but I can tell you from my heart I want a real master bedroom, complete with walk in closets, jacquzzi style bath tub and all the rest. I want two other bedrooms, a den or the family room as it’s known today. In the kitchen I want an island and lots of countertop space, with beautiful cabinets. A picture window by the kitchen table, a dining room just big enough for the table that seats 12. Three bathrooms and a two car garage.

I want my dream house on a hill, well almost. I want neighbors, I just want them on the other side of the moat. (lol)

    • Wow, Teeky! That sounds like that girls house on Real Housewives of ATL.
I must say, I love my house. It’s just big enough, I don’t like a house thats’ too huge.
We have 4 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and we added a room on the back for my husband since he said he needed his own space and I had every other room. We were able to hire the same guys to brick over his room so it matches seamlessly with the rest of the house.

    • My dream house would be sitting right where my current house sits.  We have a two bedroom, one bath house and the new one wouldn’t have to be very much bigger.  I don’t want a lot of space I have to clean.

I just want a house that's laid out with some common sense. I want south facing windows and lots of them.  I want a front porch where I can put a rocking chair or swing. I want well insulated walls.  (It's 3º here today with a -20 wind chill- I'm cold)  And I want a three car garage out back, not attached.  A second story guest suite wouldn't be a bad idea either.  With my knees I don't want to be climbing stairs every day, but space for kids when they come to stay would be great.

    • I’m with you, Tuliplady, I don’t like stairs in a house. For me, it’s because I have an over active imagination and it seems that I hear creaking noises and things like that.
I don’t want a whole floor of my house to be empty if I’m home alone. I like everything on one level. Call me chicken.tongue out

Got the rest.  Teeky... ladies keep dreaming.. I did.

    • This is a portion of what someone wrote regarding the taxes: a home gifted at a value of $1.1MM will require the winner to pay approximately $300,000 in taxes
I may sound like a broken record, but that’s scary. The people raffling the home say you can possibly borrow against the equity for the money. Every year? That is truly the gift that keeps giving!

I love our 3 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home.  Our home have a Prayer room, with a door that leads to a private side porch.  A guest suite, with a square fotage that is the size of a two car garage....this room was one that we made adjustments on the plan (originally it was a 3car garage....but we decided to make ita guest suite....My son has his private bathroom.  We also have a family room, breakfast nook, living room dining room, with a built in china closet w/french door.  (the inside of that china closet is painted burnt orange....class shelves, with recess lighting. Our powder room, is my favorite room, it was designed from my heart....(they all were, but it must have had alot more love put in it....lol).  Its tiled to the ceiling, with a stone look tiling. the vanity (all wood) is topped off with a orange vessel sink.  We have a pantry, I wished it was a walk in like originally planned.  We have a mud room....which houses the water heater, the washer/dryer, and a chest freeer.  Our foyer floor is dropped, and beautifully architectured I made changes in this area as well,on the higher level, there is a water fountain, with an roman achitectural design.   The Master ensuite, is 24×23 and unescribable...I would have to post pics.  my husbands office is right of our suite, and has acess to a pivate porch.  We made changes on the floor plan in our ensuite as well. We eliminated the door that led to a back porch that was to house a hot tub (now da dummies want to add the porch & hot tub sometime next year. we have 75 feet of property in the back, and 70 feet in the front.  My Kitchen has an island, and trey ceiling with  , wood cabinets and granite cunter tops.

This is our dream home in the mking, b/c we are still working feverishly to make it what we want it to be....

Teeky.. girl your welcome if ever in the area and Im home.  And the Taxes on the paid for 1 Million dollar mansion are about correct at 300K which is only about 3K a month and you could get a roommate or sell the house for less than value as you own it outright.. and still make a profit..  think about it ?  You could make a Million dollars and buy your dreams.... Id bid on it just to resell it for less than a Million.. just a business womans perspective.. of the raffle.

    • My dream house is not so much on the inside but more on the outside...Inside I want the basics...a bedroom and bathroom for each of our children...huge family room with surround sound and theather style seating...White on white kitchen..master bathroom..double sink..double toilet...Bidet is a must in all of the ladies bathrooms (personal childhood fave for me..we had those in England).

My outside is my passion though..an oasis like retreat...totally enclosed (allergic to mosquitos)...waterfalls..peaceful and tranquil...huge solar heated swimming pool that lights up at night...sauna room and cabana...heated pool room with showers etc...Botanical plants throughout..always smell the freshness of plants and extracts...And all of this has to be in an all year round hot weather area...Love the heat..lol

And I can’t forget my mum’s suite..with everything she could possibly want in her space..just as long as she’s close by me...

      PHEW!!!!!
