pic     Just joined it today. TONS of forms to fill out, personality questions and stuff.

Got 30 matches so far (I joined last week, but just paid for it today - it was like $50 I think for 2 or 3 months, something like that, so you can see I’m getting mighty lonely out here in rural New Hampshire. Hey, I’m a New York City gal and then an Austin, Texas gal, so this is quite the culture shock.) and only 2 of the matches were geographically near me.

But I suppose I should allow for the fact that I did NOT lie about anything on the questionairre, including my age (63), because I really do want to meet someone. And perhaps being 63 means that there are less guys in the pool. So it’ll be a wait and see thing.

The 2 guys that were nearby were an hour away, which I can do I guess. But here’s my question: Why do men wear baseball caps???

    • Good luck to you on eharmony! I know of couples who are married now thanks to eharmony.

I have no idea about the baseball cap thing.

    • No idea about the baseball caps unless they don’t have a woman who swipes off their head just before they have their picture taken ?

Good luck and keep us posted and what are you doing about the house move

    • Thanks, you guys.

Vicki, you‘re so thoughtful to ask. I’ve applied to 2 low-income housing buildings in my town. They look pretty nice, well-lit, nice-looking peeps coming and going. One has a 2-year waiting list, the other a 3-month waiting list, so I’m having my current landlord look into the mold thing in the meantime. I’m afraid to tell them about the mice because I don’t want anything killed. Once I tell them, I could suggest the “Have-a-Heart” mouse traps, but I’m not sure my landlords will go for that.

    • Suzann, I want to hear about your e-Harmony experiences. I heard that the couple that owns a bed & breakfast up the hwy met on Singlesnet.com that I was on for a month at a time twice. I had a lot of responses at 61, but some had to be ignored.

In todays world everyone is tied to their devices, no one talks to anyone anymore. This is a great opportunity to meet men, sure you will find crazy ones and good ones, but just enjoy and if it’s meant to be it will happen.

As for men and caps, it’s like women and earrings.  It’s just a part of them.  I don’t even recognize my husband in a crowd if he doesn’t have his cap on.

What I couldn’t handle is a long beard or ugly mustache. LOL

    • Two reasons men wear a baseball cap.
Posted by tennisplanet on March 17, 2008

      1. To hide the baldness.

      2. Have the illusion that they will look more appealing to the ladies.

That's it. There's no other freaking reason. If they are wearing it backwards like Hewitt it's to project the rebel image to compensate for lack of height and mass.

I do agree with Neicy- they try to hide baldness.
Maybe they think by wearing a baseball cap they look younger?

    • Suzann I read your blog when you first posted and I thought I sent you good luck wishes... but now reading thru maybe I was side tracked. I am wishing you a very positive and productive time with eHarmony. I have had friends do it and have had all kinds of results good and bad.

As for the hats..... it’s their security blankey
As for baldness.... more testosterine (sp?) and if they are still taking care of themselves very sexy..... Think Vin Diesel or Yul Brynner or Telly Savalas......

    • You guys are great! Thanks for all your ideas.

I think the baseball caps may be a baldness issue, too. One guy had a photo of himself actually in a suit. So I clicked on him and all his other photos were with baseball caps. And he was kind of bald.

Teeth, omg, yes, I probably sound like a horse trader, but the teeth have to be at least okay. But bald doesn’t bother me, probably for the reasons Vikki mentioned: Vin Diesel and friends.

There’s one guy in a town near me, I’m going to respond to his “questionaire“. Still gingerly dipping my big toe in the water - not sure if I should call him. They have a thing on eHarmony where you can make what they call “secure” phone calls. We’ll see!!!

    • LOL, Suzann, I thought I sounded like a horse trader with teeth being an issue with me. My
brother knows a single man and the one thing he asked my brother is if I have teeth. LOL

Go at your own pace, and stay with feeling comfortable.

Writing the man doesn’t obligate you in any way. Talk awhile online and then on the phone before you decide to Meet In Public. Good luck and the force is with you! (Fab 40!)  ;oD
