Have you ever spent an entire evening looking for something decent to watch on television? I have! I have flipped channels using the remote control for two hours or more, watching a little bit of one show and then another - all the while thinking “this stuff is stupid“. At the end of the evening, I felt frustrated because I “wasted” my time. It is much better to keep things on hand to do you know you will enjoy on the chance you have time to fill. Planning ahead will help us not waste time.

God doesn’t want us wasting any of our resources, especially not our time. We should strive to use our time wisely. We are created by God for progress, accomplishment and fruit bearing. It is built into our spiritual DNA and without it we feel incomplete.

Be committed to not wasting time. Do what you can do and let God do what you cannot do. The Bible says we are to do what the crisis demands and then stand firmly in our place. Our place is “in Christ” trusting Him to make a way where there seems to be no way.

God has begun a good work in you and He will finish it. He is the Author and the Finisher of our faith. He will complete you and make you what you ought to be.
