Ok so I went to the doctors last week because of my sinus infection and allergies getting the best of me and while there he decided to do a physical on me the whole nine including scheduling me for a mamogram and a pap-smear. Ok so after getting off the scale I was a bit pertured with myself because I had gain a few more pounds instead of losing. I was on a good roll with my weight loss goals and then I fell off. He encouraged me to lose the weight because he doesn’t want me to go into the bracket of becoming a diabetic. Ok so he does blood work and of course the urine test, and this week I get the results back from all the test he ran on me while in the office and my Hemoglobin A1c (diabetes test) comes back 6.2 and the goal is to be under 6.0 now I’m heated at myself and need to get more serious about my weight. All the other test results were good no issues just the diabetes test. Now my hubby is a diabetic and Lord knows I don’t want to go down that road because I see what he has to deal with on a daily basis with all the meds and all, but he does have it under control.

So I have to quit playing with my health and begin to eat more healthier and begin to ear right. My main problem is that I don’t eat right! I go all day without eating and then when I get home I don’t eat the right things, so while at Sam’s Club I got some things to take with me to work to nibble on while at work to help me speed up my metabolism and begin to change my eating habit. I hope this works!

    • Neicy, I had to get into the habit of eating breakfast. I didn’t have time for breakfast since junior high (middle school) and it was a habit that stuck with me. Take care of others but no time to take care of me.

      Wishes you success!

    • Neicy I have to suggest that you do what I did. Especially since I used to do the same as you... Not eating all day and then finally eating something bad out of desperation.

I decided I was important enough to focus on 1st and no longer put ME on the back burner. So my attempt was not to do it quickly but to do it for life. I had to set a timer on my phone to remind me to eat. I set it for every 3 hours and when it went off I ate something. Not big but something. I know Carine did a blog about snacks and meals with protein in them. I think we were trying to keep them to around 300 calories per meal.

Here it is 3 yrs later and while I have lost only 20 lbs my other numbers are in line and not out of control. So in this case the tortoise really does win over the hare!
