First off..how to classify these words of wisdom...Health, Money, Home, Stupidity? tongue out

So - I took the week and said-get some stuff done, get HIM off the brain...pound some nails, do some painting, reorganize..do some moving- forward...

Well..250.00 later (and the $$ are going to still add up)..I have a pantry built!! I was able to consolidate a free standing pantry and some shelves into a built in!! Whoo Hoo!!..Some drawbacks...all of a sudden I have 10 cans of corn? and why did I buy a jar of artichokes (I dont think I ever ate one)..

But I noticed one thing that was kind of an ‘ah ha’ moment....I had a bunch of expired stuff (can we say 2005)...Now before you say ewww-yuck...These were items at one point I thought I needed (like him) thought I wanted (like him)..but..these were all sweet foods...
Cake mixes, frosting, pudding, jello...Something to fill that void, something comforting, and something that knowing was there was a comfort, but ultimately, not healthy and not needed...

Out came the garbage bag and dumped all of this stuff out...and looked a lil bit closer at everything else and my only sad moment was the Aunt Jemima pancake mix ( ok so I dont cook from scratch ALL the time)...and like my relationship with Mr Wonderful, it was sweet at one point, needed at some point and wanted...but...it’s expired...time to dump it out..get IT out of my system, out of my head...too bad he can’t fit in the damn garbage bag...but his head would and that is a really nice thought about now!

My week was productive, but still a bit more to do (how MANY SHADES OF WHITE CAN THERE BE?)..and as cathartic as it was..I really think that I may need to build some more something, because it’s easier to let a good cry out when your using a hammer...and miss..estatic

    • Great analogy. You‘re on the right path, albeit uncomfortable at times and cathartic as all get out, you’ll come out the other side with joy in your heart.heart

    • Good for you for building a pantry.  During the summer as I cleaned my cupboards, I found stuff that have expired some time ago.  Out came out more tosses from the refrigerator too.  All these items were way in the back and yes, I had some duplicates.  So, these days when I write my shopping list I check to see if I have it or not.

I don’t have your skill of building anything, but when done it’s definitely all worth it.

    • Thanks so much for the words of encouragement...I find this is really helping ..getting it all out..The wonderful women I am meeting-it has truly been a blessing finding this site..

Please Note- I was able to do some stuff, but with my back surgery-the majority of hard labor was done by someone else..I tried to do a few things, but am really limited-but I did get to get out some frustration-Hope this didnt mislead someone by the way it was written
