Fickle, Fickle, Life’s a Pickle!  When I was a kid, that word always made me laugh.  I was not sure of the meaning at the time, but my sister and I would giggle our heads off.  Our mom was an aficionado of words, and she would throw some zingers at us.

As I got older and started to appreciate words and their meanings, it opened up a big world for me.  Now I was introduced to not only words, but phrases, paragraphs, was all so exhilarating!

My mind grabbed all these delectable words and before I knew it, my head was spinning.  Trying to use these words on my friends would just make them look at me as if I sprouted a third eye, but I could get lost in a world of words and build a story.

As I have approached middle age, these words and their meanings sometimes need some help, so I reach for my trusty dictionary.  It makes me feel sad for those that deal with memory disorders or brain trauma and cannot remember very small or simple words.

So, as I close my blog, it is true what they say about the mind, being a terrible thing to waste, when there are so many beautiful words out there just waiting to be revealed.
