Finding the Opportunity in Crisis
The mortgage crisis led to the real estate crisis, which led to a global financial crisis, and endless comparisons of the Great Depression. Without question, and at the very least, we live at a time when stability is out the window and previous safety nets have been rolled up and taken away.

To quote Thomas Paine, "These are the times that try men's souls."

And yet, if we can weather the storm of various crises, the opportunities are there for us to come out ahead. Consider: In the Japanese language, the Kanji phrase that expresses "crisis" is comprised of two different symbols. Separately, these are the symbols for "danger" and "opportunity." Together, they represent "crisis." What a powerful way for us to view a concept that normally has connotations of panic, peril, and emergency.

Life in 2010 is full of crises large and small, personal and global, that can undermine hope and that divert attention from what really matters. The opportunity of our present moment is that people want to be in control—of their finances, their health, their lives and destinies. We can act on this opportunity.

Max offers incredible products that enhance health and wellbeing. Our  expanding market opportunities give people a chance to build a global business with minimal start-up cost. Our inspiring focus on personal development give people tools to become more than they ever thought possible. Our opportunity at Max truly provides more than can be found anywhere else.

As we accentuate the opportunity, we also work to reduce or eliminate the danger. The Max Code helps us establish a principles-driven environment that rejects the negative side of our industry. We recognize and know how to avoid the shortcut mentality of "sub-standard MLM" and focus instead on disciplined behavior. We will continue to be an "A" Company and stand for something bigger than profits, providing a safe harbor for industry veterans and newcomers alike. Our field leadership is aligned with the corporate vision and strategy. Finally, we must guard against doubt, and start to think we just can't do it. We can never underestimate the good Max can foster in the world.

The Max opportunity is strong and real and vibrant. In the face of crises all around us, it can be a beacon others can follow to a better life.
