I've been waiting for this website to be a little further along in its development before I shared it with you (there were only three food artisans featured on the site when it first launched very recently). With a still growing array of food merchants now featured on the site, I can no longer wait...

[Link Removed] an online marketplace, like Etsy, but in this case showcasing delights of the edible kind. Foodzie focuses on gourmet and organic health foods, allowing small producers to set up storefronts to display and sell their products.  Food producers are featured through their own web pages that provide all the information (ingredient, allergens, ...) that you would want to know. And also like its artsy counterpart, Foodzie provides the background story of the vendors.

We can now shop and enjoy rare and exclusive finds from food artisans that we would otherwise never had known about.

    • How strange, someone just mentioned this to me today. I looked at the site a few hours ago. Only think I’m wondering is what they take in their cut. I understand that etsy and the others take a big chunk out of the sales.

    • I’m not sure about the “commission“. For Etsy, it’s a small percentage, under 5% I think, although I’d have to check on that. In any case, it is cheaper than operating a full blown ecommerce site and as an additional sales channel, I’m sure that it warrants being investigated. I’m sure that we will be hearing a lot more from this site in the next year.
