As a mom, nurse, success coach and business owner, overwhelm is certainly something I have experienced.  With our novel length to-do lists, women are frequently experiencing this feeling more and more.  For some, we start our day in overwhelm and end it in exhaustion. If you are feeling drained and overwhelmed on a fairly consistent basis, than you may need to look at what is going on in your day.  Awareness is the first key to making any changes.  Often we don't recognize the negative pattern we have created in our lives.  Through questioning and self reflection, we can empower ourselves toward change.

Ask yourself these questions below.

How do I start my day?
What do I think about when I get out of bed in the morning?
What nutritional choices do I regularly make throughout the day?
How about exercise-Is it plentiful or non-existent?
Am I always rushing through everything?
Is there task I want or need to accomplish but continue to put off?
Do I always need to feel in control and be right?
Does every task I do need to be accomplished perfectly?
Do I complain or gossip more than I laugh?
Do I spend more time watching reality TV than I do creating my own reality?
Am I constantly thinking about what is missing in my life?
Do I spend most of my time ruminating about the past or worrying about the future?
Have I been spending more time scolding my kids than praising them?
Do you dread going to work?

bq. Give some serious consideration to these questions and even go a step further and journal your answers, thoughts and feelings about them. What many women believe when feeling overwhelmed, is that they are a victim of their circumstances and have little control over their lives.  The absolute opposite is true.

Yes, there are situations beyond our control however it is our choice as to how we will let those situations dictate our lives.  We make decisions every day that either move us forward or keep us stuck in overwhelm.  Action absorbs overwhelm. Get into action today and take some positive steps towards a healthy and fulfilling future.
