‘Fun-loving’ - I see that word in many self-descriptions on dating sites.

Defined: ‘Fun‘...amusement, especially lively or playful/exciting or amusing goings-on/ not for serious purpose.

So finding ‘fun’ can also be finding something lively or exciting. So that includes anything that doesn’t have to have the connotation of any event where there’s wine, or a theme park ride, or speed-dating.

My idea of 'exciting and lively' (and therefore 'fun'): mountain walking with some challenging bits, an afternoon at the Ace Cafe in North London, going on a special interest holiday with lots of other people who also share your interest. So I am  'fun-loving', or am I?

When a man reads ‘fun-loving’ I think he understands ‘not for serious purpose‘, night-club loving, try-anything-once loving (although that try-anything-once may mean try all rides at the theme park once, or enjoys his banter with the crowd), but mostly nothing with serious intent.

I haven’t had so much fun in the past 18 months. Too much energy put into work (which I have enjoyed at times) and not enough play has made me dull.  I moved job to allow for more time for ‘fun‘. The new job demanded your soul (I use the past tense because in my own mind I’m already moving on and am now counting down the days, not months or weeks, until the beginning of July).

I’m trying to break out of the prison I’ve created.

    • You need a nice vacation with no thoughts of work, than you will have fun and relax.

Spend a bit of time alone everyday!  I take 20min everyday watching one of my favorite shows Cougar Town.. It takes me out of my worl and into another even if only for 20 min a day.  I exercise but I still have work on my mind then too...

Take care of yourself, Enjoy life before its gone..
