It’s getting closer to my surgery date.....Tuesday, November 9th.  I got a confirmation call a week ago that everything is approved with my insurance after completing the 6 month physician supervised diet.  I got my call today letting me know I have an appt. for pre-op this Wednesday which will consist of registering at the hospital and blood work.  That’s it!

I meet with my doctor one more time on Monday, November 8th just to go over everything and to make sure I’m ready and if I have any questions.

I woke up yesterday feeling pretty crappy....sore throat, headache and I just plain felt bad.  I had so much to do with the house (new bamboo floors and painting) that I just said forget it..and I took a 4 hour nap.  I felt somewhat better and today I felt a little better.  We had some nasty storms to come through South Carolina today so I’m thinking it was the weather causing all that for me.  Here on out I get worried if I start feeling bad etc. because I am so scared that something is going to prevent me from having the surgery.

I have been eating just about anything I want lately and have probably gained back the 11 pounds I lost earlier.  But when November 9th comes...things are gonna change.  estatic

    • Hi Mary,

I’m new to this fab 40 thing and not sure if the information you have posted includes what surgury you are having done.  However, I just had a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago and was up and walking around the next day.  It was done abdominally and everyone told me I would be in bed and in pain for 4 weeks.  Well, I wasn’t and am doing great.  I even went back to work two weeks after the surgery.  It’s been 3 yesterday and I’m doing everything I’ve done before and more.  I’m able to exercise and move more comfortably.

So, if your concern is recovery or if if you are fearing and outcome or whatever, think positively and push forward.  I wish you the best with whatever you are going through.

      Best to you...

    • Thanks Joannerooque!

But I’m not having a hysterectomy....already had that in 1998 at the ripe age of 33.

I’m actually having gastric bypass surgery (weight loss surgery) on November 9th.  If you go several blogs back that I’ve written you can read about my journey.  I’m very excited about it and will continue to blog about it before and after...and later on will post some before and after photos.  estatic

I’ve had two C-sections, hysterectomy, breast reduction, surgery to repair a very bad broken arm (4 1/2 hours of surgery to fix that), a fibroid cyst removed from a breast, and now this.  I’m use to the abdominal surgery so to speak and thank goodness this will be laproscopic (sp?)...so I will have (5) little openings to deal with.  It’s life changing and life extending for me.
