When the statement is made, “tell me something about you,” I for one am dumbfounded. I have no clue where to begin and it’s worse when applying for a job.

Based on my own personal observations I can tell you in the calmness of this moment that I am stable, steady and I have perseverance. When I like where I am I stay for years, example married for 14 yrs and 7 yrs., living in same neighborhood for 30 yrs. same job for 9. Same church for 23yrs.

I am outgoing, active, goal oriented,(short and long) and a poet. I am a mother, daughter, sister, wife, aunt, niece, nanny and friend too many.

I’m sure I have left out an attribute or two but you can ask me anything you like.

    • You sound like a fantastic lady!

I always have a hard time talking about myself too, I just look kinda dumbfounded when someone asks me to talk about myself...I think you did great.

    • It’s the perfect opportunity to speak highly of oneself without being accused of have an ego or pompous, arrogant attitude. So maybe we ought to practice for our moment to shine.

    • I have the same blank attack when asked that question.

Primarily, I feel I was raised to not be boastful, to practice modesty, and to take a back seat in a man’s world. Many women have these values drilled into them and it doesn’t work so well for us in the modern world.

It is a skill which should be learned by us and yes, practice makes perfect and helps it to come easier to our lips.

    • Hey ladies,

First the doggie belongs to my daughter, but I’ll work on posting a photo soon.

We can still be modest and take a back seat at just the right time. We should practice for our moment to shine and share all that we are if what we say can be proven factual or documented we are upright and faultless. Let’s do this!

    • Hey girlies,
This is a question that humbles us. I use to really have problems putting the answer in a way that didn’t make me feel so bad. At last I have been delivered from the shame of my past and can say this about myself. I am AWESOME! I am a WOMAN who have overcome some rough stuff. I am ALL that and EVERYTHING that life has tried to steal from me and give me at the same time. I am a BLACK, WHITE, CHINESE and INDIAN woman. I am a WARRIOR and a WORSHIPPER of the MOST HIGH GOD. I am Beautiful. I am a woman who LOVE the LORD and Love People. I am a MOTIVATOR and an ENCOURAGER I am a woman who love LIFE and a woman who LIVES LIFE like it’s the LAST DAY. I Get the job done and I do it with THE wind under my wings and the SUN on my FACE. I TRUST GOD
That seems long, but I’ve learned to just keep it real and confess with my mouth those things that I believe in my heart. GOD is Creating a MASTERPIECE out of a Broken Pieces.
      AMen Girls!!!!

    • Ms.Cocco,

Perfect example of what we need to be able to unashamedly say about ourselves when the opportunity arises.

    • I was born Denise Marshone... I am pretty much a happy go lucky person who try to live and let live. I love life and I live to be happy. This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it. I am feeling good in my mind, body, soul and spirit all praise be to God, for He is worthy to be praise because it is He who makes all things that happen in my life possible. For Iam nothing and can do nothing without Him. In him I move and have my being. I am just grateful to be here today because if God hadn’t breathed his breath of life in me I’d be just a memory. “Glory!” Life is too short to take for granted. God gives every man a measure of faith. I allow my faith in God to work for me on a daily basis for with out faith it is impossible to please God. I need God in my life to order my steps for I am no good to myself without him. I am truly thankful for Gods undying love and his mercy and grace shared with me on a daily basis. I take nothing for my journey that God has brought me through, all the good and bad, the ups and downs, and the turn arounds I give God all the glory for he brought me out! Thank you Jesus.
