I got a new job!!  And it’s full-time!  I will be returning to the instructional design field and will be a consultant for a large company with more pay and better benefits than my current company.  For example, we get ALL the federal government holidays off.  In my current company, we only get some of the federal holidays off.  I’m very excited to begin this new chapter in my life.

I had been looking for a new job since January and took about a month off when we were getting ready to move.  I must have applied to about 30-40 jobs.  I only had one other interview which I didn’t get.  With this job, I had the interview and I received the job offer the NEXT day.

Our mortgage is higher and my hubby is still not working, so this is a big blessing to us.  Plus we would like to get a newer car soon which would not have been possible with my part-time salary.

I will miss working part-time though.  I have been very fortunate to be able to work part-time the majority of these last 8 years and be able to spend more time with my two boys.  But it will be nice to have some money again!  Things were very tight for us.

I recently received my performance review at my current company and it was good.  So I’m leaving my current company on a good note and senior management said I could come back if I wanted to.  That made me feel really good!

I’m sure there will be a period of adjustment to both the new client and my new company.  I’ve been with my current company 11 years so I’m pretty familiar with the culture and the way they do things but every company is different.

My last day at my current job is May 7th and I start my new job on May 14th, the day after Mother’s Day!  What a great Mother’s Day present!

Love it
