It didn’t start out as a planned goal, but it happened due to my hubby’s generosity. Remember, I shared with you that my hubby gifted me with continuous Maid Service as a Christmas gift.
With that being my gift, it immediately caused me to begin decluttering my home. Who would dare let the maids come and find items that could, should or would’ve been given away, stored, tossed or otherwise not being in its desired place! Not me! Yes, I am one of those people who must “clean before the maid comes“!
Fast forward a few days later. Here’s what I’ve accomplished! I’ve found myself even working a midnite shift. I’ve decluttered my kitchen counters of my lovely decorations, My kitchen has a minimalist look with remnants of me left! My closet is being stripped and many items have been donated. There are many more articles of clothing that will find new homes! Well, my shoes haven’t been touched. You know how I feel about them. But since some haven’t been worn in a while; I’ll give myself a serious talk, rationalize how they will bless someone else and let a few pairs go. Bye, bye my precious foot candy!
I’ve donated books, clothing, vases, decorative pillows, candles, kitchen items and there’s still more to go! Also, tossing items along the way in the way of “Where did all these telephone books come from“? Today, I’ll be pulling out another HUGE box to fill for the next charity pick-up.
All because I received Maid Service as a gift!
Isn’t it a good feeling to de-clutter? I set my goals with that starting in 2010 and it has made a world of difference. The mere fact of not having so much stuff to clean and dust around anymore is wonderful.
Enjoy the maid service, it sounds like a dream.
I’m doing the same thing, but without the maids coming. Its a good feeling getting rid of clutter.
When you get rid of clutter, it’s amazing how much stuff you can donate or recycle. I agree it’s satisfying when you accomplish it.
Now that the maids have come and gone, I’ll continue on my quest to have a clutter-free home!
An act of kindness is a gift given
