The mountain shows us God’s might,
Shining the Son’s light,
through the clouds the rainbow comes,
Oh, what a beautiful sight!

    • Nature always amazes me...We tend to say it the little things that matter...that we need to appreciate and be grateful for the little things. But when you really stop to think about it these are not the little things...these are the great big things! And we need to see them for what they truly are,...Miracles.
They are the sign post’ that are there to remind us that we are all apart of something so much bigger than just you or I alone and that we are all connected. Just like every little piece of dirt that went in to making that magnificent mountain and every prism of light that makes the rainbow.
      Peace.

    • Although we don’t have the beautiful mountains in Louisiana with which to frame such an awesome sight, God did bless us this afternoon with a perfect rainbow.  Isn’t it wonderful how He so often uses His nature to remind us of His presence?  A little “lagniappe” blessing as we say in Louisiana.

    • How beautiful !! A rainbow is GOD‘S Promise to never destroy the earth with water again.

      Gen. 9:11-14
And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

And God said, this is the token of the covenant which I makes between me and you and every living creature that is with you for perpetual generations.

I do set my BOW in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

And it shall come to pass with I bring a cloud over the earth, that the BOW shall be seen in the cloud.

    • Thanks Five-0! Yes, I so agree with you...in fact I wrote this poem for an assignment in a bible study class I’m teaching - and the title of the study is “Miracles - Signs of God’s Glory“.  I chose this picture from a vacation we went on several years ago to Sedona.

Sedona is a magical place to me.  People go there for many different reasons.  Native Americans believe that Sedona has different healing properties they call them vortexes.  I think it is God at his finest.  I am in awe of the beauty which surrounds me when I’m in Sedona.  It truly is a magnificant and grand place...if you are ever out west...it is the place to visit!

Thanks Annie 123, CoachMomBabe...glad you and Libby1944 had rainbows today! Libby1944 thanks for the words from Louisianna, I don’t think I could say the word “lagniappe“- hope all is going well there! & Chocolatier - that is how it felt that day, straight from heaven - thanks Vee for reminding me where it is in the Bible...one of my favorite stories.   I have never been to the Bayou, Rystmom - but yes, Sedona also makes me feel at peace.

Thanks all for your kind words!!!

Glad to share that awesome pic with you!  My hubby took it...he always takes the best.

    • I hope to visit there one day. I have heard so many beautiful and positive things about it. My family is part Creek Indian.
Although we didn’t grow up learning much about that part of my family’s heritage I feel it is one of my reasons I feel so strongly intuitive about nature at times. I truly feel there are places on this earth that are meant to be experienced for their healing properties.

    • Almost Five-O (sorry I didn’t put that almost in before!)Yes! I love the Native American teachings.  I think we can all learn from them.  Nature is something that we should hold dear to us, and I believe that the culture understands the relationship of man, animal and environment...long before it was the “in” thing.

Arizona is rich with Native American culture.  If you ever do get the chance to visit, there is so much to soak up...scenery, culture, etc.  It is very different from any other place I’ve ever been.

      Where are you from?

    • I definitely want to visit there...and I love Native American culture. I am originally from Cincinnati, Oh. But my mothers family is from a county in Georgia called Coweta. Which was heavily populated with the Creek Indians before they split apart and some moved to Oklahoma.
Her grandfather was Muscokee they were called Creeks because they liked to live near water...which is probably why I love living near water as well!
My mom never really talked much about that fact. I had to research.

    • Empower - yes, I agree with that statement.  My mother in law will often call me at the end of the day and say “Go outside and look toward the west.”  and when I do, it is always a beautiful sunset!  I love those nights!  The desert has beautiful sunsets.  I often miss them because I am so busy making dinner, watching the news, or doing something that can always wait for later!  I need a phone call to remind me to go out and check out the sunset!

      Thanks for the comment.

Jesusgirl - I would love to visit your Hotsprings - I bet it would feel nice on these tired muscles and aching bones!!
You describe your scenery and it makes me want to come and visit!  It sounds very beautiful.

    • I understand when you speak of the sunsets..It’s rare that I get a chance to see one anymore. I miss the ritual my husband and I used to share of watching the sunset almost every evening. Most times I had to make him sit down long enough to enjoy them..lol but he always did.
After my move to Savannah I was at work one evening at a retail store I literally stopped right in the middle of what I was doing and almost yelled “Oh My God!”
Everyone turned around to see what was wrong. I said, “look at that beautiful sunset“. They of course looked at me like I was insane...lol
Mind you it had been a while since I had seen one. I wanted to cry.
Sunset are one of my favorite things in the world.

You and your hubby must go to Sedona!!! It is an absolute must!  Even just for the day.  It is only about a two hour drive out of Phoenix, (not even that from our area) but definitely from the center of Phoenix.

I do love sunsets over the water!!! When we go to Rocky Point, it is one of the things we enjoy watching.  Although, now with all of the building going on down in my tiny fishing village, the tall skyscrapers are getting in the way of the sunsets...oh well.

    • Oh! You have lived in some beautiful places! I’ve always wanted to go to the Cayman Islands.

My husband and I have always wanted to visit every beach in this world in search of the “Most Beautiful Beach“...wouldn’t that be a fun journey?  We are happy to have a beach just four hours away (Mexico) and a hop, skip and a jump to San Diego, California.

We love to go to Coronado Island - off of the coast of San Diego.  It really isn’t an island...but it has a small town feel to it and that is very appealing to us.

    • Ok, Empower - I thought of a great day trip!  On the return from Sedona go the back way through Cottonwood, Jerome and Prescott!  You can hit some wonderful and very different scenery on the way back...that way you can pick which town you want to explore in detail.  Jerome is one of my favorites because it is artsy.  It is an old mining town that sits on the side of a hill...really!  Artists and old bikers have come in and rebuilt the town and own small shops, bars and eateries.  It is a really unique place to visit.  You must eat at the Asylum (an old hospital for the mentally ill, of course - which they have turned into a nice place to eat and I think sleep) or the Haunted Hamburger!!  The Chamber of Commerce has a great website to visit and learn more about this unique town!!
