As many of you know I lost my brother-in-law in a terrible car accident last summer.  Next month will be the 1 year anniversary of the accident.  His widow has moved on.  She has found a good man who the family has approved of.  His mother has a close relationship to God & has found a sort of peace with it.  Though she still misses him terribly.  His father has finally admitted that he’s slipped into a depression & has started to seek help.  My boyfriend has his good days & bad days.  We just came back from a quick vacation where I thought he was doing good.  However last night, after having dinner with some friends, I realized he wasn’t doing as good as I had hoped.  We pulled into my drive.  My daughter be-bopped into the house as girls do.  He wanted to sit in the truck for a minute to listen to the song on the radio.  (He doesn’t even like that song, so I decided to stay in the truck too.)  He just broke down.  He’s slipping into a mild depression as well.  With the 1 year anniversary coming up, I’m not quite sure what to do about it.  All I know to do is to sit with him & hold his hand as he goes through these sporadic mini-bursts of emotion.  They don’t last long cause he forces himself to snap out of it.  Anyone have any insight on what to expect emotionally from this 1 year mark?  I have some idea from the lost of my Pentagon friends in 2001, but this is different.
