I recently became a certified Guetmala specialist. Who Knew the small Central American country was so diverse and rich in culture. Everything from active nitght life, five star hotels and hollistic spas to museum after museum displaying Maya culture as far back as 1000 BC. There is also surfing, scuba diving, sailing, rafting, volcanos and pyramids.

With ports and beaches on both Pacific and Atlantic coasts bird watchers can appreciate Guatemala as a historic hub on migratory routs from as far away as Alaska and Canada. There are several national wild life sancutaries, the wild life is as diverse as what the culture has to offer.

The Most striking thing I learned about Guatemala, the people and its culture, is that these deeply christian people have held on to ancestrial tradition, their history, through the preservation of churches, artifacts and nature. This beautiful country is a must see for the adventure traveler as well as the archeologist or leisure tourist.
