!pic           Here’s what I’ve been thinking: If I can let loose of my “storylines” - those pesky thoughts and dramas that go through my head all the time - I’ve discovered that “gut feelings” really do guide me with love.

Like most of us, I grew up with people telling me, “Oh, that’s just your imagination,” or “You‘re such a romantic,” or “Get real, already!”

But most people aren’t US. We can trust our gut feelings - our intuition. One friend of mine calls her intuition her angels. Others call it the “still, small voice.” Some people get these gut feelings from their dreams. Each one of us retrieves intuitive information in our own way. But what we have in common is that if we can learn to trust it, it will seldom let us down.

If you have a decision to make, yes, weigh the pros and cons, make lists, Google it, do the math. But ultimately, if your intuition is still causing you to hesitate, it’s best to go with your intuition and hesitate.

I had a boyfriend once, for a short time, many years ago, and when I first met him, my gut was telling me “No! He’s NOT the one!” My intuition was telling me not to get involved with him. I heard it distinctly but didn’t listen. After all, my family liked him, he had a great job, he was handsome, bla bla bla, so I ignored my intuition and ... yes, you guessed it. The relationship was a disaster. And I knew from Day 1 it wouldn’t work out because my gut feelings told me so. But my “storyline” of my life at that time included a man, and so I ignored my gut feelings.

Bad idea.

I need to get to know my deep down authentic self. And from there, I can trust my intuition to keep me safe; to help me make the best decisions.
