This Thanksgiving is special for us. We‘re celebrating Jackson’s first go round with it and Hanukah.  He won’t be partaking of the bird (except through osmosis), but the great thing is that we will now have 3 young men joining us for the holidays.

Our daughter Sam is hosting.  Some of you probably think this isn’t right since she’s working full-time and has an infant. Let me assure you-she’s probably right!

I remember those years with the little ones.  It really is easier to have everyone come over with their individual potluck additions and you get to stay at home!

With babies you can’t go without packing up the house!

We’ve all been there:  port-a-crib, diapers, extras clothes, bibs, wipes, bouncy seat PLUS your part of the dinner!

Sam is so organized too.  So I’m sure the afternoon will run “like clockwork“.

Amazing how 365 days can transform lives.  Looking forward to this year-we have so much to be thankful for that it could take hours to go around the table and let everyone tell their favorite of the year!

In the meantime-may your celebration be filled with good health, family that knows how to behave and great food to share.

    • happy  Sounds like you will have a nice time Carine!

I will be going to my brother’s for Thanksgiving.  It will be kinda special because this is the first Thanksgiving in many many years that we all have gotten together.  We used to get together all the time for the holidays but then my mom died, we moved far away, and my oldest brother ( who usually hosted) got divorced).  So we’ve had a lot of changes in the last 6 years or so but I’m glad that we‘re gathering together as a family again.

    • I totally understand Diane.  I did the hosting for over 7 years.  our get-together ranged from a mere 8 to a couple of years where we had 30 in the house.  then my sister moved to her “party” house and took over.

Last year was the first time where we weren’t together.  My parents, sister and her family and her in-laws stayed in Cali.  I had just gotten out here.  So they had theirs and our DD hosted.  W/ her MIL/BF and MIL’s bro-we still had 11.

      Enjoy your family-sounds wonderful!
