Has anyone been through this?

I recently had Mohs surgery (March 12, 2009) on my nose for what was biopsied as a ‘superficial’ basal cell carcinoma - except it wasn’t superficial, as a good sized mass existed underneath.  I had reconstructive plastic surgery the next day, which meant lifting the skin on my nose and repositioning the tissue underneath to fill the hole and even things out.  It also meant stitches from the top to tip of my nose set in a jagged pattern (as a straight line scar would catch the light and be more prominent).

I didn’t know what i was in for, but so far my healing is coming along, and the swelling has come down considerably the past 3 days.  Curious if anyone else has been through this and what your experience was.
