This time of the year is difficult for me since I have no relatives in CA.  My daughter, whose birthday is tomorrow, lives in Las Vegas, I have one sister in NC and one in PA and my mom is in NJ.  For many years, I cooked a huge dinner for our family...35 of us would sit down to Thanksgiving dinner together.  Those were wonderful dinners and our traditional dessert always included birthday cake along with the apple and pumpkin pie.

I wish you and yours a holiday filled with family, friends and thoughts of those who can’t share the table with you this year but still hold a place in your heart.

My family certainly is in my thoughts and always in my heart! I am so thankful to have them....even though they are miles away.

Happy Thanksgiving!

    • I know you‘re all together in spirit but I also know it’s not the same as everyone gathered together around the table. I hope you find something for yourself on Thanksgiving that brings you joy. I’m a California native and if I was back home again I’d certainly invite you to my house for the holiday

      Best to you
      Cynthia

    • Like Cynthia said, you are all together in spirit.

Thanksgiving is for friends as well as family, it would be great if you could share it with the other people in your life that you care about.

Happy Thanksgiving. Hope your day goes well.

    • I can relate with you, I used to have the holidays at my house every year, four out of five of my brothers, my mother, both my children and friends. I used to cook enough for an army. Today it was just me, my brother and my son. Next year will be different, too and I thought of that all day. I miss those days, too. But, we can be with them in our memories and be thankful that we have them. I’m glad you shared this, because I was feeling the same way :)
