Not sure if this the right category as I am a newcomer here and coulnd’t find pet blogs, but, here goes!

I am so done with the drugs the vet gives me for my labrador. All the costly liver function tests and showing done pills all for something that is supposed to helping my 4-legged baby with her arthritis and hip dysplasia! I just bought a holistic product from a commercial on Animal Planet called Cool Dog Joint Care. It is a liquid and working so much better than those glucosamine pills and Rimadyl after only a couple of weeks. Ginny, my lab, loves the pot roast flavor too.

All is good, but how long with a holistic supplement work before I have to go back the drugs? Anybody have experience with this product or other supplements especially if you have a labrador? is there anything out there that is holistic, tasty, and supposed to be good for skin problems?

P.S. I’ll try to link or post the Cool Dog video if I can find it online, as it is working great now.

Thanks...Crystal

    • Hi Crystal,

Thanks for the information, we have several groups on Pets, just got to group and search pets.

I’ll check this out, my dog has been limping and doctors don’t know why, but the are so happy to keep giving him meds that don’t do anything.

    • Crystal,
Keep me posted on how this is working. Our 3 yo golden retriever just underwent knee surgery this July for a 100% torn ACL and ruptured miniscus. She is doing wonderful, but the doctor also said she has arthritis. I have her on (per the doctors recom) glucusamine and chondrotin, but it is extremely expensive. What is the cost of this?

    • Knee surgery at 3 and vets don’t know why Yana’s dog is limping? Looks like we have some troubled pups here :)
So far, sooooo good. Kind of odd, but I got a call from the CEO of Cool Dog over the weekend (Jonathon is his name) to ask me how my lab likes the product, and how she is doing on the product. I was shocked as I thought the guy on tv was an actor. Nice to see customer service is coming back to the USA. Very thoughtful company, and a product that actually works. Anyway, regarding the cost Termite, it cost me direct from the manufacturer (yourcooldog.com) about $.62 cents a day and has a lot of glucosamine, chondroitin, MSM, and some stuff called hyaluronic acid. My dog loves it though, which I why I gave up on stuffing down the pills with all the other junk in them. Good luck, and I will forward progress reports to all...Crystal
