Home Economics 12/31/08

This is NOT the way I planned on starting 2009...with my husband's paycheck coming in over $2000 short. Why? Who the heck knows. (1) The office is closed today so he can't call payroll, and we will be scrambling because the mortgage is due and the money is not there.

Yesterday, I went to the grocery store for a week's worth of groceries. I try to keep it under $100, which I can usually do, and yesterday was no exception. When I say a week's worth of groceries, I really mean it, as I pack a lunch for school each day and my husband often comes home for lunch.

So, I packed my coupons and wound up with some good deals, even though I went to one of the more expensive grocery stores in town. But in light of this new and wholly unexpected (2) turn of events, I will have to try to cut back to $70.

And I don't do beans. Trust me. You don't want me to.

(1) Frankly, I know. We ALL know. The idiot who bought the company uses it as a personal bank account. Any profits? He uses them to buy Victoria's Secret for his 29 year old girlfriend and Tiffany's for his age-appropriate wife. So that she'll ignore the 29 year old girlfriend.

(2) Not really wholly unexpected, given the above.
