I generally tend to be a very practical person, so during this time when many of us are watching our money more closely, I thought is important to remind us to focus on giving hand made gifts this Christmas.  Giving should come from the heart... a labor of love, if you will.  For years, I have given away boxes of homemade biscotti to friends and family.  I did this because I love how good it tastes and wanted all my family to share it the tasting pleasure.  Nothing beats a hot cup of Java and a fresh made piece of Chocolate Almond Biscotti.  So this year I decided to offer biscotti as a fundraiser for my husband music teaching studio. I am excited about this.

I shared with my 3 teenage daughters that this year they should focus of what they could make for each of their friends.  I felt being encouraging this would spark something creative inside of them.  I am waiting to see what happens.  I think they might surprise me.

Being creative just takes a little energy, but your friends will appreciate the thought it took to make something special just for them.  So, go ahead, make a handmade or homemade gift this year.  Your friends and family will love it and you will be proud of what you did...because it was a labor of love, indeed!

    • I have always appreciated the handmade gifts I recieve. I always feel they are truely from the heart. Being a crafter I know the time it takes to make certain things.

    • Thanks.  I have fondly been referred to as a “Martha Stewart” and I love it!  I am a hopelessly addicted decorater and redesigner.  I am always looking at what I can change or fix next.  Feel free to visit my website:
