Mom still has not fully recovered from her stroke..She has surgery on wednesday to put a stint in... Children are doing MUCH better! :) thank you Lord! Dad went into the hospital wednesday...kidneys were not functioning properly.. his potassium was way too high.. almost killed him..he is shaking uncontrolably, and is in a state of confusion...So, the Dr called my mom today and told her that dad will have to go into a rehab place for 3-4 weeks so they can monitor him closley, and have physical therapy...my children and i just moved into our own place the week before Christmas...

Sooooooo.. i need to be here at my home, with my mom, and with my step dad! my sister is as worthless as a tit on a bore, and has one exuse after another WHY she can not come help..or se says, ” i will see what i can do ” My brother and his family live in WV, so he cant be here.. but if push comes to shove i KNOW he will help!

There is so much i am dealing with.. and i am exhusted! i feel alone, and away from everyone and everything.. im depressed.. im frustrated, angry, and done! lol

I know God brought me back to Michigan for ” such a time as this ” i need your thoughts and prayers girls.. prayers for strenght and wisdom..

i have just written a book! lol i will stop for now.. so much more to tell you but im tired! lol

I love you all so much!

    • Linni so great to see you back, and I agree with Tracy...being a caregiver is hard work and you may need to do a lot of venting especially if your sister doesn’t help...we‘re here and we‘re listening...((hugs))

    • Linni,

I am so sorry that you are going through this, I know how drained you are feeling right now. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Check out Cheryl Richardson’s “The Art of Extreme Self Care” book. It really has helped me.

Perhaps the best advice I can give you is to take care of yourself. Every single day, do something for you and you alone, even if it is for five minutes. Also, vent when you need so it doesn’t build up.

      Take care!

    • You‘re always in my prayers, Linni. You’ve been through it this past year. When they say God doesn’t give you more than you can handle - this is certainly a testament to how strong you are as a person. You’ve been dished out a very full plate with a generous portion of seconds, my friend.

And, you are free to vent at will and often hereestatic

    • Thanks Girls..

i went up to the hospital today to see my step-dad, and you know.. its so hard.. ( im crying as i think of this )things are just so different with him.. hes almost like a little child one minute, and the next is a brilliant 85 year old.. i cant even describe it..

i just know if he goes before mom, she will follow VERY SOON after him..she is a mess with all thats going on with her, and then worring about dad makes it harder...mom is going to check into some assisted living places for her and dad.. that way they can be together..there are only 2 on this list of like 8 places in this area, that have demtia ( spelling )units.. i notice it getting worse, and of coarse, he doesnt even realize it..

    • * HERES AN UPDATE: *

When they went to put the stent in mom on Wednesday, they found that the blockage wasnt the 90% that the catscann had shown, but 65%! so thats a good thing! They did find that she has calcium ( or something to that effect.. i cant remember what the Dr. said ) built up on the walls of her arteries, and it would have made it hard to get the stent in anyway! so they will treat is with medication.. She is home and feeling a bit ruff, but glad in knowing that she didnt need the stent..

DAD: dad is at the rehab center, and is doing ok.. the confusion is still there, and the shaking or trembeling is still there.. he really fought going but is ok with it.. they keep him VERY busy! lol Wednesday, he went to get into the wheelchair to go to the bathroom, and caught his leg on the foot rest of the chair.. gouged it open, and it was bleeding badly.. the spot he tore open had a growth on it.. the Dr. took the growth off and stitched his leg..the growth was skin cancer.. he has had alot of skin cancer removed from his body in the last few years...

MY SISTER:.. did she ever make it down to help? NOPE! i could have worked MON, TUE, WED, but needed to be with my mom and do the things she needed done before her stent surgery.. did i actually think my sister would come? no, but i did hope..

its ok, because i KNOW God will provide ALL i need, and im just GREATFUL im not like my sister!

      Have a blessed day Ladies!
      love you all!
