The challenge is on ladies and any peeking gents!

This week-what’s your favorite cold soup and hot salad?

Chocolatier said in Hawaii hot salads are the in thing:

We‘re famous over here for hot salads. We just make our normal green salad with a vinegar dressing but we top it with a little cheese and then some hot, sliced, grilled meat of some type. It’s soooo good!

For cold soup?  Even though she’s not a fan of them chocolatier says her hubby loves gazpaucho!

Linni said she loves doing the same “hot” salad by adding a piece of hot grilled turkey, chicken or fish and wilting the greens.

Vikki89  said she loves hot potato salad-bacon, onions and spices with a hot vinaigrette dressing and for her cold soup-it tomato basil and pepper.

Care to add your favorites?  Chime in-I’ll be “moving” into a hotel starting tomorrow until the following Wednesday or Thursday-I’ll be online, but I don’t know how much!

Hopefully, I’ll be on as usual!

    • I have what I call a “hot tooth“. I love spicy food. One of my favorite salads is a grilled buffalo shrimp salad. I take shrimp and toss them in Frank’s buffalo sauce, grill them with tri colored pepers. As the shrimp are cooking, I make a simple salad of romaine a small amount of blue cheese salad dressing with added bleu cheese. The combination is out of this world!

I also have an incredible quinoa salad that even the hearties carnivore loves.

    • Speaking of soup, I had an amazing summerveggie soup at Panera. It was topped with pesto. Yum! I will have to try to recreate it.
