Security First & Associates, LLC (SF&A) is a minority-owned, woman-owned company. SF&A is a professional security consulting company specializing in the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements. SF&A can provide support in the areas of Applicant Prescreening, Personnel Security, Program Management, Audit Control, Computer Security, Policy and Procedural Development, and Background Investigations.
SF&A will assess your program and provide you with detailed recommendations and solutions that make sure your program is following the NISP and Director of Central Intelligence Directives (DCID).
If you take a look at the top levels of the most diversity-oriented organizations, you don't see many women in top roles, and women who have gone out on their own are even more scarce in the Security Field.—but much of this is due to the large influx of former military and police personnel into the private sector in this category.

I'm proud to be running my own firm and filling a unique niche in this sector—but the fact that I have more than two decades' experience in such wide-ranging facets of security operations is the unique makeup I stress to my clients in positioning the business as a resource. How can I differentiate myself from my competitors?

    • Hi griffind,
I know I’m not alone in saying I’m proud of your accomplishments! I can understand the frustration you must feel with your level of experience in your field. At the same time I know nothing about the security sector or what you may deal with in your day to day. One thing I have learned, and am still learning, is to look at things from a different angle. An innovative look at your business will alter what others see even if nothing changes.

Example: A year ago I was out of work, suffering from depression and dealing with the fact that my three kids had flown the nest. After being a single mom for over 20 years I had no identity of my own that I could remember. I learned in a personal growth seminar to “LOOK AT IT FROM A DIFFERENT ANGLE“. I realized that I have a clean slate, a new beginning, no ties or obligations past or present. I am actually at the beginning of my life! Now I’m starting my own business, and choosing the life I want to live. And I’m loving it.

I’m sure you have everything you need professionally to be where you want to be. See yourself differently, maybe reorder a few things. Others will have no choice but to see the difference too!

    • Congratulations on your accomplishments!

      YOU GO GIRL!!!!!

In my opinion, building a portfolio of happy clients with letters of recommendations always does the trick.

It’s so much easier to compete in the world of jewelry, cosmetics, etc., but when you deal with people who are concerned about finances, security, etc. previous clients are your best cheer leaders.

      Good luck.

Hope to see lots of you on our space
