It’s funny to me, ironic even. On Thursday Dec.17, I was celebrating life, so I offered up a challenge and seemingly I wontongue out. I drank 8 shots of Jose Cuervo Tequila, yeah and I was still standing. I fell asleep gently and slept all night.

Ohhhh but Friday. The morning was easy as long as I stayed in the bed. And then it happened, “earl“, a few days later I thought I had a stomach virus but I’m still not too sure because I feel bad right now!

But I can put away 8 shots and still be STANDING!

    • LOL!estatic  I feel your pain.  I can put away a lot and stay standing, but the next day is just not worth it.

The last time I went out and did some serious drinking(years ago when I was still with my ex) I was sick for three days.

    • That is the main reason I rarely drink anymore...the hangovers are worse and seem to last longer...I wonder if aging has anything to do with it....so now a days...a few drinks is my limit as I do not want anything to do with a hangover...also the fact that I am now a diabetic so with that alone I have to limit myself.

    • Yes Ma‘am, you said a mouthful. I would want to prove a point to the next challenger but I’m not willing to suffer to do it. So now I just have the liberty of talking plenty *()!.

    • Hence the saying: 1 tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila ... FLOOR!

One of my oldest buddies challenged me to a mango margarita drink off. She came all the way from the west coast to take me up on this. MISTAKE!!! Well, I had 6 and she had 4. I don’t even remember how I got home that night, subway and bus wise, all I recall is I had a smile all the way around my head! Must have looked damn near certifiable! Then the next day I had a hangover you would not believe even my eyelashes hurt. I time my liquor, giving my stomach a chance to catch up to what my mouth is doing LOL.

Clear liquor leaves no hangover so I usually drink vodka, but if it has that golden tint to it, that’s a guarantee that you‘re going to be feeling it along the way. A co-worker gave me a bottle of Jose Cuervo Gold. I just looked at it and said, “I’ll save it for a party, this is not a weekend drink.”

    • Say Kyah,

I could have used that tip earlier. If I can’t drink it on the weekend I sure can’t have it during the week.

The hangovers did seem to last longer and more painfully this year than they did even last year.

    • I found a remedy for this leftover, “hangover” kind of feeling and I really hope it works. A 12oz coke, a raw egg and two aspirin. I found it necessary to psych myself out by holding my nose.

Will see how I feel in the morningtongue out

    • 47...running,

Tequila is a Friday ‘party hardy’ type of drink, which gives a person Saturday and Sunday to recuperate. Vodka on the other hand can be swigged all week long. I make sure I eat a green salad with oil & vinegar before tossing back the drinks (tequila, vodka, cognac, wine, brandy, champagne, beer too), keeps a little water in your system and the olive oil acts as a barrier. I think one reason why hangovers can be so bad is because they deplete the body of water and if we don’t replenish this before passing out, it’ll hit you like a ton of bricks when you wake up the next day.

‘Tis the season to get snockered! happy

    • That is a good breakdown of what I discovered way after the fact. I do feel a little better this morning as the “quila” is moving out the bodyhappy

    • This is also why I do not get blasted anymore.  2 or 3 drinks is my limit now.  My last few hangovers put me in bed for a minimum of 2-3 days, and I just can’t stand that.
