I started my own HR consulting and recruitment business 5 months ago and knew that it would be tough, but the one thing I did not realise when I was at the top that the lower levels make the rules in the business world as they block your processes, put your CVs in file “13“, the bin, and dont bother to give you feedback for days and days!  Dont answer your emails,or calls.  Yes we can escalate it, but we still have to contend with the same people at the end of the day. What other approach can I use?

    • Well if I am understanding you correctly it’s the people who ate the foundation of any company that is preventing you from growing your business? And that they are stopping you from reaching the upper management?
That’s what they are designed to do!  So schmooze them!!!!!!

Walk in your info packet and with a gift basket of goodies (candy is what I used).  Follow up and then follow up again.. Tenacity, friendliness and sincerity will always win. Referring to them as the lower levels will not get you anywhere tho frown

    • I agree with Vikki.  If someone is blocking your way, find the way around or thru them.  Often times that way is just as she says, schmoozing or sucking up or whatever you want to call it.

Sounds like you‘re very frustrated.  Get that frustration out of your system and start afresh on Monday morning.
