Any time any type of musical  is on TV, my man always groans and says "That is so.... lame! I don't want to watch that!" So, being woman and trying to keep the peace, I usually change the channel, plus I must admit that I too am not a huge fan of musicals, until this one came to town.

"Evil Dead-The Musical"

Having grow up watching Bruce Campbell the king of B movies and his various hilarious romps on the screen "Evil Dead", "Army of Darkness", "Bubba Ho Tep" etc , I was delighted to see that they made a musical out of  "Evil Dead".  All  I could think to myself was "How can they make a musical out of a B movie, it's going to be so cheesy!" I contacted friends and we all agreed we should go, my friend Amanda said she would also bring her teenaged sons. Awesome! It was a date! In fact oddly enough, there were only two women, the rest were men.

My friend Amanda and I  purchased the tickets a couple of months ago, at $47.00 each, but  I was afraid to bring it up to my man, scared that he wouldn't want to go. However, when I did finally tell him that we were going to go see the musical, he laughed and said "Right on! Maxim Magazine gave it two thumbs up, and quoted that it was the one musical you will want to see."  Whew! Glad Maxim magazine made my man want to see a musical, way to go Maxim!!! I didn't have to plead or beg for him to come, he actually seemed like he was looking forward to it.

The night of the musical, I was scared that my man was going to turn around and make all sorts of jokes about me taking him on a date to see a lame musical. To my delight, sitting beside me was a gorgeous man, clapping wildly, dancing, laughing and most definitely have himself a great time, as were all the other friends that came too. Yes, mission accomplished, this was a great date.

I must say, this musical was very well done, absolutely hilarious, the singers were great, and men and women, children and even older folks, were right into it, and I could tell it is having a cult following much like "The Rocky Horror Picture Show!"

If this musical is coming to your town, please go see it and take the love of your life with you. I mean, come on if Maxim gave it two thumbs up, then you know your man will probably want to see it.
