I guess I could have categorized this as ‘work‘! I’m often asked ‘how do you create your art’ or ‘what is this?’ So, I have begun to do a bit of show and tell over the years! Unfortunately, Fab40 is fickle when I attempt to load my tiny images. So, I’ll provide a link to each image I’m describing until I find a solution!
Indigo and Onyx: 8.5×11 Print:
[Link Removed]

Many of my images are a sort of fused combination of photographs, illustrations and computer manipulations. Though I have many line illustrations and paintings with no computer enhancements.

I began creating this first image, Indigo and Onyx, with a textile pattern created from some of my drawings and some computer manipulations, adjusted the color and added a photograph is some plants in a once soft translucent layer and turned it to a silhouette. I aimed for a contrast of distinct pattern and nature. I have a small series of this image which I also print in large format sizes and on a special photo film and use for lamp shades, or even fabric. I adore the photo film for use in lamp shades. The beauty and light that seeps through the image as a lamp shade is striking I often find myself just gazing into it...did I make that?

Sorry I have one of these print images in one of my albums and was not able to use it in this blog posting as I would have liked!
