How Well Do You Know Your Neighbors ?

Click on the link above and type in your address.. it gives names and addresses of convicted felongs in your area and the felonies they were charged with.

It always amazes me when I check this site.

I have a total of five felons in my area.. How many do you have ?

    • None in my subdivision for now.
In the past, when I lived in the condo, I found my opposite neighbor Chris was on the watch list. I confronted him and he told me his story which happened 20 years ago.  Just to make the story short, sometimes we do have to watch for it but sometimes, it really all depends.  Judgment call needs to be exercised on individually basis.

    • Very true Chinadoll, I recomend to look at type of conviction on the list.  If its something that could effect you like child molestation or burglary, Id keep one eye open.  Always look at circumstances.

But its a nice site to have handy.

    • I have 5 sexual offenders in my area.  I used to rollerblade around my neighborhood after midnight during the summer.  I think I’ll stop until I get my new pitbull to accompany me again.  I was undecided what kind of dog to get but since I don’t want to stop my night sports I think I need a big, strong dog.

    • I agreed Bobbi.  It is always good to know and have a watchful eye.  I am thankful that I have great neighbors - they are my best girlfriends.  Should see us all standing on one lawn and just chit chatting.  I can also pass drinks around the fence.  One said she would not want to move just because of friends.  How sweet.  May you all have a wonderful neighborhood.  They are a true blessing.

    • Warrior Your right, they obviously are released and served thier time but Id look at the charges, if its kidnapping, rape, sodomy, things like that, learn to avoid that area and warn others.  It doesnt mean they will do it again and you cant be sued for slandering someone if what you say is true.  So, just be cautious.  Thats what I do.. and if you have children point out who or where to stay away from..

Never allow them near that area and keep them in sight at all times.

I know it is hard but we are in the age of watch your kids all the time, the days of playing down the street with all the other kids is almost gone, a parent must be supervising the children at all times.  Work out play schedules times and where to allow the children to play.

I always recomend a yard or back yard preferably..

My kids hated it as I had to know ever second where they were.. as I know what lurks outside..

If your a woman alone.. keep windows closed tight at night and park near where you live and let someone know where your at, with and going to be.  Its just responsible this day and age.
      Be cautious.

    • Bummer.  You know when I lived in Brooklyn NY I used to skate over the Brooklyn bridge and hang out with friends at South Street seaport until the wee hours of the morning. I never felt scared or worried about my welfare.  Here I am living in beautiful NC with deer's and horses in my backyard and I have to be more careful than I did in the crazy city. Now that I have this knowledge, I know that I will curtail my midnight walks and rollerblading.  My hubby has a license to carry a concealed weapon and is an expert shot.  I refused to get my license although I could have because of my husbands business. In January my husband will leave me again to go play with his Air Force toys in some far off place and leave me home all alone for 2 to 6 months.  Maybe I should revisit this gun license issue and go with him to the shooting range.

      greeneyed do you carry?

    • Warrior, Do you live at Camp Legune ?  I have a friend on base but with Marines in NC.. You just be safe.  No Warrior I dont carry because I am a dead EYE SHOT.. and i hit what I aim at dead on.. Im a from a long line of gunfighters HA  .. most recent line is Wild Bill Hicock.. Just a natural like rest of my family with a weapon which scares the heck out of me as I know if I fire, its deadly.  So I dont carry but am thinking about it after my son moves out.  For safety.  I would never hunt or shoot animals though.

You be safe warrior, if you live on base it should be safest place.

It never hurts to learn to defend yourself or how to shoot a weapon.

Learn it and learn safety with weapons too.

The megan’s law site shows even more.
This is why my kids are not out after dark and not outside in the front yard alone!!

    • Creepy. I found a 16 yr.old with a first-degree stalking charge in the neighborhood, and told my son, 16, not to hang out with any kid with that name. He’d never heard of the kid, but can’t be too careful.

Of course, there were worse... UGH! :(

Bobbi, you‘re career is really fascinating. You must have a zillion stories. My husband works in criminal justice with victim abuse cases. He won’t even tell me about the cases, many involving children. It really gets to him.
