I can only say this so plainly:

I love Hugh Jackman.

He’s Emmy-winning! He’s Tony-winning!! He was chosen as one of People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People five years in a row, and is the 2008 Sexiest Man Alive!!! I mean, just look at him:

And as if all of that wasn't enough, this weekend the man himself is hosting my version of the Superbowl--The 81st Annual Academy Awards.

There are only so many actors who could handle being an international sex symbol, a comic-book hero and a Broadway star with such class. And how many other performers do you know who have won a Primetime Emmy award for hosting the Tony Awards? None, that’s how many!

He’s most recently been seen on the big screen opposite Nicole Kidman in the action-adventure blockbuster Australia (which is nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Achievement in Costume Design).

He's currently got several projects in various stages of production, including [Link Removed] , a spin-off from the X-Men empire of films.

I’m not much of a comic-book to movie fan, but in Hugh’s case, I’ve always made an exception.

This week’s Friday five is dedicated solely to Mr. Hugh Jackman and my five favorite films from his impressive resume. There were some hard choices, but in the end I just appreciated all the time I got to spend poring over his pages and selecting just the right pictures. It’s a rough job, but somebody’s gotta do it!

[Link Removed] Emperor Penguin Memphis (voiced by Hugh Jackman) was supposed to tend his egg when his mate left with the other females to do the fishing. In his struggles against the harsh winter, Memphis slips and drops the egg he has been tasked to protect. The egg is then slow to hatch, and when Memphis' son Mumble emerges without a heartsong he is a great disappointment--not only to his father, but to the entire colony. Banished from his home, it is up to Mumble to find his purpose in a world he doesn't understand.

[Link Removed] Magicians Robert Angier and Alfred Borden (Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale) were friends until Angier's wife died as a result of a magic trick gone wrong at Borden's hand. Now the two are pitted against each other in a bitter rivalry steeped in jealousy and obsession, going to drastic extremes to reveal the real magic behind the man. Short of madness, both men will lay everything on the line to outdo the other.

[Link Removed]  Leopold Mountbatten (Hugh Jackman), Duke of Albany in 1876, accidentally slips through a rip in the space-time continuum and finds himself in 21st century New York City. He meets and falls in love with Kate (Meg Ryan), but circumstances unfold to reveal that life in the modern world is harder than it appears. Relying on a love that surpasses centuries, Kate must take a leap of faith for the man of her dreams.

[Link Removed]  Hidden deep within a complicated computer network are government secrets and the key to lots and lots of cash. Gabriel Shear (John Travolta) wants it, and retired computer hacker Stanley Jobson (Hugh Jackman) is the one man who can get it for him. Jobson doesn't want a part of Shear's devious plan, though, and will take some strong convincing.

[Link Removed] The world is not a safe place for the newly-revealed and much-feared mutants. But not all mutants are bad. Under the tutelage of Professor Charles Xavier and bolstered by the discovery of Rogue (Anna Paquin) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the X-Men are banded together to stand against their dark brethren as led by Magneto, whose only aim is to destroy the balance that the X-Men strive to achieve.

Don't forget, this Sunday evening at 7pm (CST), Hugh is hosting the 81st Annual Academy Awards on ABC!
