What am I thankful for?

For me, that question is easy.

My first son was born without an esophagus.

Having endured years of special needs such as tube feeding, surgeries and follow-up care, I am ETERNALLY thankful that my son can eat! Such a simple thing, the rest of us take it for granted. But, a miracle for us. That first Thanksgiving after his major surgery to construct an esophagus was really special for my husband and me. Now, fourteen years old, my son has a great love for seafood. We love to indulge him when the budget allows. Once, on vacation, we actually ended up in an emergency room because he had broken out in hives from eating seafood 3 nights in a row!

Be thankful.

You are blessed!
