The other day, I was walking outside with a friend in the early morning cold.  The stars were still out, the sun still waining behind the earth.  The streets were not plowed and the houses were dark with sleepy-heads on their soft pillows.  We walked by cars parked along the side of the street, with a coat of fresh fallen snow on their wind-shields.  We walked carefully on the sheet of ice under the snow, to ensure sure-feet as we walked two miles toward our destination.  We looked up and noticed how pretty the trees looked with the sheet of icy snow on their limbs.  I said, “doesn’t it feel like we own this space?” and “Isn’t it neat to be able to walk down on the fresh-snow covered streets?”  and “So many people ‘miss out’ on this experience.”  It is a beautiful moment to be able to get up really early and walk in the small-city streets while everyone sleeps.  It’s so quiet and peaceful.  The moments that I capture are pictures that stay forever in my memory.

I appreciate the moment..
