Today was a great day. Earlier this week I was feeling kind of bored with my life and after reading the definition and talking to an associate I realized that my boredom was self induced and unnecessary.

So I made a list of activities to do today starting with work. Around 2pm I left the house and went to Barnes & Nobles for a book signing for a Pastor/Family/Friend and while there I ran into a crowd of associates that I hadn’t seen in a while. I then went to a campaign meeting, another business meeting and finally home.

Once I got home I finished cooking dinner and now I am watching the NFL playoffs and blogging.

Yes I conquered boredom today and tomorrow I vow to do more of the same.

    • @Frannie1964 I have had a hobby in the past and that is not what I’m specifically referring to. I had become comfortable and complacent with being sedentary for various reasons.

I just don’t want to ever say I’m bored or boring so I’m getting out more starting yesterday.

(There are three types of boredom, all of which involve problems of engagement of attention. These include times when we are prevented from engaging in something, when we are forced to engage in some unwanted activity, or when we are simply unable, for no apparent reason, to maintain engagement in any activity or spectacle.)

    • Well then mine must be the attention part, something has to really catch my attention for me to want to do something.

My get up and go has got up and gone!

    • This weekend was awesome. I kept my promise to myself and at the same time I was socializing with a passion. I enjoyed every aspect of each occasion from the book signing to today’s outing to the Texas Artists Museum. I saw old friends and made new ones. The epitome of conquest.
