I am not really a shy person, but by no means do I or have I ever enjoyed being in the spotlight.

I was reading the local paper last week and saw a story about a film crew that has been doing movies in smaller towns using only people from that community for the cast and the crew.

So, imagine my surprise when immedietely after reading the article, a voice inside me said, I have to try out.  I think I freaked myself out.  I have never done community theatre or anything, but the story stressed that no experience was neccessary.

Try-outs were Tuesday evening at a local church, I was first.  It was done “Improv style” in front of five poeple.  We could do serious, funny, whatever we wanted.  They gave me a scenario where one of the guys sitting there was my brother who had just started taking care of our mom and had her with him for one week after she had lived with me for 9 years.  He was trying to get me to take her back.  I think it went well, I really enjoyed it.

Haven’t heard anything yet, hopefully soon. Filming will take place end of June and early July.  I have no idea if I will make it or not, but just the idea that I went with a gut reaction makes me proud of myself.
