It is February 18th, 2010 - time sure does fly!! Since I wrote my last blog regarding Valentine’s Day late last month, I have had two job offers!!

I got the first job offer for a part time position on Feb. 4th - it was an impromptu interview that I went to - I was unprepared but went with great expectancy. I was actually at a Career Connections class in church that day when a friend walked in a little late and she told us all that she had just secured a job. She encouraged several of us to apply and I did. I believe there is a reason I went there as I am not taking the offer up - my interviewer, a beautiful lady, had similar life experiences as I did. She shared three things that impacted me: she told me that she could not understand why I was unemployed; she told me that I had a great spirit and she recommended me a book “The Secrets” by Rhonda Byrne. I left the interview knowing that I had secured a job and she really helped me to boost my confidence. After the interview, I went straight to the bookstore and purchased the recommended book. It is a great book to read and reread.

I had a phone interview the following Tuesday and was asked to attend a face to face interview the following day. I was enthusiastic and well prepared as i had done my research about the company. On Thursday, I received an offer from the company and I accepted it. I start work in March.

I have about 10 days before I start work and I am very thankful. Since mid-June 2009, I have volunteered, become sick, done some freelance work, returned to Malaysia, been on trips to Portland, Charleston and Morehead City. I have also learned to do fly fishing etc. I am truly very blessed. There have been times i just wanted to give up - it is hard being a single mother with teens and no other family in the US. My faith has helped me tremendously - so have my friends.

We can have what we believe - just ask, believe and receive it. Visualize yourself with what you desire. Give back and help others in need. Don’t lose hope - surround yourself with positive people and literature. You can do it. 2010 is a year of new beginnings!

Love it
