I couldn’t decide what catagory to put this under because so many apply. Work, Friendship, Entreprenureship,Travel, Midlife changes, Money, Motivation, etc so I chose OTHER.

I had quit my job over 2 years ago and moved to Tennesee. Since I had moved I didn’t work but focused on me. My health, my body, my marriage, my family, and my home. I also attempted to try to find things I liked to do. I discovered that I like to cook a little (I haven’t worked up to fancy meals), I like to do some gardening, I like to decorate my home, make jewelry, read different genres of books, take pictures, small scale hiking and biking, working out and some other things I didn’t have time for when I worked. I should also include I have learned that I like social media.....Fab40 in particular!

But I felt like I was still missing something. It took me awhile to figure it out. I enjoyed being at home and I enjoyed all the things I was able to do. Well when we started searching for houses when we moved from one end of TN to the other end (that dang ATT) I thought I would enjoy becoming a Realtor. I played with the idea until I knew for sure it was time for me to go back to work. I figured out that while I enjoyed being home and all the things I was doing I actually missed working and the interaction with the people I came across. So I decided that real estate was something I would like to do and it would give me flexibility and allow me to be entreprenurial. I had many conversations with my real estate agent that helped us find our house here. And based on the info I had I decided to enter real estate school.

Well isn’t life just like that.... You set off on one destination only to have choices thrown at you along the way.

My former boss and a co worker (friend) both kept in touch with me after I had quit my job. The company we all had worked for had been sold to a really big fish and then sold to a medium size fish. Of course during that time I heard all the woes that were going on. My former boss would always say to me that he was looking for the right opportunity for me to come back. And my friend co worker would always ask me if I would come back. My response to them both was always if it was right I would consider it.

Well I was just about to finish my classes and of course I get a call about an opportunity in my area. After much consideration and sleepless nights of pondering I decided to accept. With a lot of hesitation! My hesitations were valid (all the woes I heard about) and my concern for the impact on my family life that I had created.

There were differences in this job compared to what I did before. Less money, less responsibility, less ownership! But on the flip side it offered me an opportunity to make and save money for real estate without pulling from savings. It has provided me with the ability to network more. It has tho slowed down my real estate adventure.

So here I am doing my family thing and working and trying to squeeze in study for that real estate exam for my license. I do some travel for work about every 2 weeks. And I am currently in the process of converting their computer system and training the staff (BTW I am an area supervisor for a corporate chain salon that has a cosmetology license not a degree from MIT or any IT school).

Now during all this I was contemplating doing a home based business and was considering a few different ones. Naturally with my background I leaned towards skin care and beauty. But for whatever reason just could not get excited (I though the beauty biz had burned me out) about any one offer.

Then our very own Mary Clark became an independent stylist with Stella & Dot jewelry. I checked out her site a few times and fell in love with it all. I then decided to host an online catalog party because I wanted some stuff (good word huh!). Well I just became excited by the product itself and then the company too I decided to join and become a stylist too. I haven't done much with it yet since I just joined last week. But it doesn't matter if I become huge at this because I love the jewelry and will be buying it anyways. Feel free to check it out and tell me what you think. I would appreciate any advice on how to become successful at home sales [Link Removed]

So here I am with these things going on and I get 3 calls from different job opportunities. They all had different backgrounds but would still utilize my proven experience. Each one sounded interesting and challenging. But of course I had to pass. It’s almost like the universe just opens itself up to you when you least expect it.

So while I have a lot going on  with more coming up (today my aunts 85th birthday 3.5 hours away, a 7 day work meeting cruise in Oct, a trip back to MI for Halloween, and other stuff in between) I miss my time on here with you all.

The thing about Fab40 that you may or may not realize is that it really does offer support and encouragement. Since becoming associated with this site on Sept 4, 2008 I have grown so much as a woman. And I don’t think I could have grown as much with out Fab40 and all the Fabulous Women on here.

Well time for me to run and get ready for my Aunt Mill’s 85th! Off to Clarksville, TN!!!!
