I am a social person...i have to be social.  I’m not a chatty one who will talk to anyone but i am friendly and can usually strike up a conversation with someone if i so desire.  My job is perfectly suited to me as i can visit with a number of people on any given day.

I’ve been online for a LONG time.  I mean a really, really long time.  I’ve participated in an abundance of social medias from chat rooms to message boards to social networking sites.  It may sound like i’m bragging but, if you think about it, it’s kind of pathetic.  Pathetic or not, i consider myself pretty well-versed in social outlets and I have to say that there is ALWAYS someone who feels that it’s the job of the message board, chat room or networking site to keep them entertained.

In the chat rooms, these people will announce to a room filled with chatting individuals that “this place is boring!”  Ummm...WE aren’t boring, YOU are boring.  I have tried to encourage people to jump in, throw something out there for us to talk about but, noooo...it’s up to everyone else to carry the burden of holding this whiner’s attention.

It’s a little different on a message board, though.  Instead of calling the site “lame” or “boring“, the bored person simply begins getting nasty with others...picking fights, making accusations, etc.  In some ways, cyber-bullying.  I have never succumbed to that crap...i simply put them on ignore.

In the networking sites such as Fab40, these malcontent individuals make a much grander gesture.  They post a blog.  Lucky us...we get to read about how this site doesn’t fill their needs.  Isn’t there a feedback form somewhere for these people to share their dissatisfaction?

In this Internet-world of ENDLESS possibilities, it’s nobody’s fault but your own if you are not satisfied with where you are online.  One simple movement that requires very little strenuous activity (sliding that cursor to the upper right portion of one’s screen and leaning into your right index finger) can end your boredom so that you can move on to something else.  Why do you suppose a person finds it necessary to write a farewell blog to us all.  And i find it especially ridiculous that, for the most part, the person is typically someone who has contributed very little, if anything, to the site.  “WHO ARE YOU, ANYWAY?”  I find it much like a guy walking down the street deciding that his walk is boring...so he rings my bell to tell me he’s bored with the walk he’s taking on my street.  Uh, okay...bye!

BUT...i do know what these people are looking for...they are looking for someone, anyone to pick up the ball and make them stay and play.  I’m too old for that.  Scratch that, i’m NOT too old...i’m too smart.  I’m responsible for MY life, MY good times, MY entertainment...NOT YOURS!
