My gross income is right at 2000.00 a month, so you can figure about how much I bring home every 2 weeks after insurance and taxes. The almost good thing is that the three children are adults, with one in college on a scholarship.

I probably need to do without something to make my money stretch, but why, I already did that once. My biggest expenditures are the house, the car, insurance on the cars, and a personal loan. I make it a point to pay the things that I could lose by repossession and then the things I need like utilities and food etc.

Just recently I was working a part-time job along with my full-time job, but I was exhausted and unhappy more often than having extra with joy.

At this point I can only do so much with my time as I am enrolled in college and attend 3-4 nights a week in pursuit of an Assoc.Degree in Kinesiology.

I am bilingual in Spanish, which is one other way to supplement my income, I tudor those who want to learn the language and I tudor ESL as well and I enjoy it. I need advice on how to promote my business with confidence.

    • Could you promote your language tutoring through the college you are attending? Bulletin boards, web boards, etc?? There is a population already there interested in learning.

Both ideas are GREAT! I live close to the campus and I’m sure I can post my info on the bulletin board. I will look into it next week.

I have come across some blogging from the business women, but I just didn’t know what to ask or say first.
I’m still hunting, reading and thinking.

    • 47andtired, Good Luck on your endeavour.

Kinesiology, is truly an interesting study and I do embrace all natural healing.  I know you would make a great Kinesiologist.  I was having some problems with my eyes and went to one, she was nothing but a fake.  She told me I was impacted (bowels), that’s when I knew she was not for real.  I am quite regular in that department.  Come to find out the problem was the eyeliner I was using.  From the beginning my husband told me that was the problem, but what do men know...haha.  Well, when I finally got it diagnosed, I did not let my husband know he was right, oh no, they are somethings we keep to ourselves....LOL

    • First of all, why aren’t you paying yourself first?  You are working so hard, make sure the first bill you pay is to you, even if it is twenty dollars a check or a month. Take your ESL to the next level and approach your local schools about coming in and working with the Special Education kids who need extra time in that department.  Your SpEd teachers will love you and you can even arrange times that are best for your schedule.  While a degree is admirable, could you not back down your schedule next semester to maybe once or twice a week instead?  Yes, it will take longer, but the time you invest in yourself and your family will make it more beneficial in the long run.  I am all for success and being the best that we can be, but some of us are running so hard to do this that we forget to live while we are doing it.  The stress relief alone is worth more that a million dollars.
