Love it

My twin grandbabies are 14-months old and as you might imagine are discovering and exploring new things every week. I don’t get to see them or my daughter since they live in S.Korea (her husband stationed there with the Army and soon moving to Germany).

Anyway, the next best thing to being there with them is visiting them via Skype! Almost everyday we Skype together sometimes just 20-30 minutes, sometimes hours. It’s like literally sitting in their livingroom with them. Besides being able to see and talk with my daughter over coffee or lunch, I love playing and watching the babies, I read and sing to them, watch them playing together (and making messes).

Last night while I was in the kitchen making dinner, I sat my laptop/webcam on the counter so they could see me and I pretended to be a cooking show host as I was chopping, mixing, cooking!  They got a kick out of watching grandma busy in the kitchen (as I sang, talked in baby-talk and made funny faces of course). And my daughter learned how to make my enchilada and spanish rice dish :)

Maybe its something you “had to be there” to truly appreciate, but I just got such a kick out of the whole thing I wanted to share it!

Oh yeah, if you haven’t tried Skype yet, do ... I love Skype! And it’s free :)

Love it
