Cooking in the kitchen has new meaning! Yesterday, for 12 looooong hours, I was kitchen-bound.  Why you ask? My family room ceiling is being repaired and the kitchen was the best location for me during this home repair project.  At this very moment, I am in my “new home” as they complete the job today.

How did I spend my 12 hours? The computer was indeed a friend to me for several hours. Haircare, garden and cooking videos kept me entertained for quite a while. Fab40, naturally was a site for enjoyment!

I decided there was no better time to do a little cooking. I put stew meat seasoned with seasoning salt and pepper, onions, carrots, potatoes, frozen mixed veggies and a can of corn, tomatoes & okra in the crockpot.  It was delicious!!! I made cornbread muffins from a boxed mix and my grandson made sugar cookies. It was so cool in the kitchen that this made for a perfect meal!

My older daughter & grandson kept me company for quite a while which was refreshing.  We always have plenty of laughs and talk.

Crocheting a baby blanket kept my hands busy for some time.  I found that this blanket will be done sooner than I could ever imagine due to the given situation. The blanket is coming along nicely!

I folded clothes and hung them in my laundry room which is accessed off from the kitchen.  This basket of  clothes had set for 2 days, mission accomplished!

I washed the dishes by hand and put them away, even using some that are normally used for entertaining.  It was so relaxing to handwash the dishes!

I chatted on the phone with my hubby and younger daughter.  They were both having a great day!

I took a quick trip out to check my gardens and discoveredd a nice-size cantaloupe growing along with sprouts from seeds I planted a few days ago. Beets, salad mix and more cucumbers on their way!

Today, I sit typing this blog and noticing that I soon will not be living in the kitchen, but will actually be free to once again enjoy my family room.  What a happy day!
