Yesterday's post I mentioned Monday's workout.

You know when you feel you’ve overextended or injured yourself, you start to ‘baby’ the hurting area?  Well yesterday, I started to feel that I needed to try to see what I could do to move this injury on so I could get back on the beam.

Been here and done this before and it doesn’t take much to slip off the beam and never go back.  Don’t want that to happen this time!

Stopped by the gym yesterday to get a copy of my workouts from Monday.  I’m sure they were thinking LAWSUIT!, but I’m not like that.  They really have nothing to worry about.

What I wanted was to get familiar with it even though I knew I had to stay away for at least a couple of days.  This is all so new to me that I want to print out my own schedule so each day I go, I know exactly what I’m doing.  I’m annal that way.  Doesn’t take much to confuse me... Keep it simple stupid, as they say.

Also ran into Mike’s trainer, Sally.  She noticed that I was limping and I showed her my Monday workout, where it was hurting (my lower, left back & hip area).  She checked out my paper and agreed that it was way too much to do in one session although, she couldn’t figure out which exercise would have bothered my problem area.

She offered to take me down & show me how to ‘roll’ it out.  I gladly accepted.

She showed me and it did indeed roll that area out, BUT it immediately moved to my buttocks and upper left leg.  She just suggested to now roll out the butt & upper leg.  The limp actually got worse for the rest of the afternoon.  Man!

Last night after taking a couple of Ibuprofen, I did start feeling a little better!  YEAH!!  I got down on the floor did a couple, very slow & light back & side leg lifts trying to loosen up.  I don’t own one the the roll thingies she gave me at the gym.  I am feeling even better this morning.

Yesterday I also came across the Fitness Channel (in my area it’s channel 181).  This morning I turned it on and although only missed 5 minutes, I followed along with the Yoga for about 20 minutes.  The next show was SlowArobics? or something like that.  I did about 10 minutes of that.

All in all, little bits at a time, I am determined to work this out.  The normal soreness in my upper body muscles is going away and I am considering going tomorrow, Friday, for an upper body workout.

The lower, we’ll keep on until this cramping or pinched-ness is gone before I work the lower.

Trying to do this with common sense without letting myself off the hook.

Both shows gave me a really good stretch and raising my heartbeat some, which 30 minutes combined, I’m happy.  I got my 30 minutes in today without going to the gym and giving my injury a little challenge.  Win, Win!

Off to get my points on SparkPeople for today’s workout.

Later, gatter-etts,
