Cleanse From Within  

You should use the change of seasons as a time to focus on cleansing your body from within.  The following recipes for shakes or stock are all excellent for this purpose.   Use them first thing in the AM and either fast for the remainder of the day or eat only fresh fruit, veggies and very lean protein for the rest of your meals.  

To keep your body's natural internal cleansing process working smoothly, don't consume refined sugar, bread products, alcohol, caffeine or any artificial colors, flavorings or preservatives for at least three days.  

Preparing Your Shake or Stock  

Instructions for making any of these recipes is simple.  For the shakes place the ingredients into a blender and process until smooth.  For the last recipe, which is a soup or chowder stock, cook as directed and then add fresh meats as suggested to use as a meal.  


Note that many of the shakes call for spinach, kale and other vegetables.  I've added honey and fruit juice to make them more palatable, however , for some that may not be enough.  I suggest that instead of giving up entirely, you add a smaller amount of the vegetable that you don't especially care for,  and more of the ones you do like.  Over time you can gradually increase the amount of the veggies you don't care for as your taste buds can become more used to them.  

Always use organically grown produce as much as possible.  And remember that when making shakes using the ripest fruits and vegetables will yield a smoother and sweeter taste.  

Internal Cleansing Shakes And Stock Recipes

*Potassium Boost*  


3/4 cup carrot juice

1 stalk celery chopped

1/2 grapefruit sectioned

1/2 cup parsley chopped

1 banana sliced  

1 tablespoon honey

1 cup apple juice OR 1/2 cup orange juice and 1/2 cup apple juice mixed

*Ginger Root Immune Boost*  


1 inch slice of peeled fresh ginger root - grated  

Juice from 1 fresh lemon

1/2 cup carrot juice

1 ripe apple seeded and finely chopped  - peeling is a matter of personal choice
