I was reading an article about women going through midlife and their vulnerability to the internet. I have two daughters 18 and 14 and have always lectured them about being careful on the internet. Then one day my 14 year old suprised me by creating me a myspace profile even though I had always objected saying i didn’t need it or want it. I remember that I didn’t even like it in the beginning. I remember thinking what is all the fuss about? It wasn’t long before I found myself caught up in the whole thing.I have been married for 23 years and was overwhelmed by all the male attention.I let myself get caught up. I really thought I was too smart for all of that and really never thought that it would affect me the way it did.I know as a woman facing the idea of turning 40 and going through alot of changes in my own life, I was and am vulnerable.I have met lots of women who also get caught up in this. What sometimes starts out as something innocent can lead to unhealthy attachments and even affairs. I am curious as to how many women have faced  or are facing these same things .So tell me have you also found yourself vulnerable?

    • Hi Icy!

I haven’t felt that way on here or FB. I don’t belong to myspace but my sister got me to log onto myyearbook.com. That place is a meat market of sorts. I since have deleted my acct there.
On here tho I am able to share, read or be inspired by WOMEN who are experiencing the same issues as me.

Check out all the blogs on here. Very interesting and caring women.

    • I don’t feel that way here and on FB..My sister-in-law did want to do a profile for me on myspace, but I told her NO and we left it at that. I did have a profile on classmate.com and I didn’t feel comfortable with that site, I would get nothing but male responses, so I cancelled that account.

I’m so happy that I joined this site and as of today I have been here for a month and I’ve enjoyed it each and everyday and I don’t regret it one bit.. All the ladies here are so wonderful and caring and experience the same issues and we all share the ups and downs..

So I hope you will enjoy this site and hope to hear more from you..Take Care, and have a good day..

    • For me, i did not allow it. I turned down many invites from men and unless i know them from a friend that is how it will stay.

I think of how it would feel if the tables were turned and my hubb accpeted invites and friendships. So, in respect to him, i would never go there.

And any man that is referred from someone my husband knows all about it. We share everything.

I have been on the net for 12 yrs and on myspace and facebook for years. That is why the decline option and delete is there.

What i tell my frenz that have gone through it...delete the person or persons and delete the account. Good luck!

    • I have my space and FB too. On my space I have friends from work and on FB I have my closest friends. Here this is where I have met some wonderful women going thru the same type of things I’m going thru at this point in my life. So this is were all my girlfriends and I pull up with a cup of coffee and hash out the issues, support each other, and share our lives. I have never had any problems with men at any of the sites, but I don’t have my picture on the profile page on my space. When I have gotten any unwanted attention there, I just hit delete.
