Yesterday, I found myself in a bar, surrounded by college football fans.  My college didn’t exactly play football.  Well, they did, but on a very small scale.  Like high school—with bleachers instead of a stadium.  When you only have a student body population of 1,200, it’s hard to keep up with Pitt and Penn State.
So, here I was, in a bar in North Carolina, with folks from Notre Dame and Penn State and Michigan State, watching a game surrounded by people who talk like I do. Which was nice, for a change.
The problem?  They were by and large, men.  Nerdy men.  And they tried to chat me up.  And all I could think was: Where are the cool guys who used to hit on me when I was 20?

Then, it dawned on me.  These WERE those guys.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

    • LOL have been there.  It’s either the nerdy guys or the ones so young they should have a curfew to be at the bar that late.  Where are good looking, intelligent, intersting and fun men.  Men who still have a zest for life.

I think they are probably chasing a skirt somewhere - perhaps? I find that those guys are normally looking for a 20 something arm candy girl.  Okay, so maybe not every guy -but I have noticed the 40 something guy is looking for the 20 something girl.

A friend of mine (in her late 30’s) recently became single after years of dating a guy that went nowhere. She is adorable, little petite bombshell and she now can put the word cougar on her personal resume. hehe...

      whoohoo!

    • I think the man in his 40s usually acts like he has a lot to prove. But the nerd is the intellectual one, the responsible one. Look out when he takes off his disguise!

    • I have noticed though, some of those nerdy guys I really wouldn’t have given a second turn of head back in the day - have really turned into some good lookin guys. I’ll take a sensitive guy anytime!
